Manufacturing Capabilities

What types of bags does HOY manufacture?

HOY specializes in OEM and ODM bag design, development, and manufacturing.

Our product categories include fashion handbags, totes, backpacks, travel bags, laptop bags, cosmetic bags, shopping bags, cooler bags, school bags, and other functional bags.

We work with a wide range of materials, including PU/synthetic leather, genuine leather, nylon, polyester, canvas, RPET and other recycled materials, woven materials, and specialty fashion materials and embellishments.

Beyond manufacturing, we provide an integrated OEM/ODM supply chain covering design and development, material sourcing, sampling, manufacturing, quality control, packaging, and global delivery.

How much experience does HOY have in bag manufacturing?

HOY's bag manufacturing history dates back to 2000, giving us more than 26 years of experience in OEM bag manufacturing and product development.

Over the years, we have worked with international brands, retailers, D2C brands, corporations, and institutional clients, handling projects ranging from branded product development to large-volume programs.

How large is HOY's manufacturing operation?

HOY operates three self-owned factories located in Dongguan, Luzhou, and Guizhou, China, with approximately 380 full-time employees.

In addition to our stable core workforce, we maintain a flexible seasonal workforce model, allowing us to scale production capacity according to order volume and production schedules.

During peak seasons, large-volume projects, or time-sensitive programs, we can increase our seasonal workforce and allocate production across different facilities and production lines.

This combination of a stable core team, flexible workforce, and multi-site manufacturing network enables us to handle regular brand programs while scaling efficiently for major orders and seasonal demand peaks.

For fashion handbags, production capacity is allocated according to product complexity and order volume. For more standardized products such as shopping bags, cosmetic bags, and promotional bags, capacity can be scaled considerably faster.

For example, we successfully completed approximately 580,000 shopping bags made from 100% recycled polyester within one month, coordinating material sourcing, workforce planning, manufacturing, quality control, and delivery.

Actual capacity and lead time are evaluated based on product construction, materials, workmanship, order quantity, and current production schedules.

Our development team can assist with pattern development, construction analysis, material recommendations, and sample production.

Can I work with HOY if I only have an idea and no complete Technical Pack?

Yes.

We work not only with established brands that have their own design and product development teams, but also with growing brands and corporate clients that may not yet have complete production-ready specifications.

You can send us reference images and information about your brand positioning, intended use, target price, dimensions, functions, and preferred style.

Our team can help translate your concept into a manufacturable product by recommending suitable construction, dimensions, materials, and production techniques.

Professional original design and Technical Pack development can also be provided as a paid service depending on project requirements.

Can you help optimize product costs?

Yes.

With our established material and component supply network, we can recommend alternatives in materials, hardware, construction, and manufacturing techniques based on your target price, positioning, and quality requirements.

Our objective is not simply to make a product cheaper. We aim to achieve the right balance between design, quality, functionality, cost, and manufacturability.

Yes.

Common branding options include metal logos, screen printing, embroidery, embossing, debossing, foil stamping, rubber patches, woven labels, hangtags, custom zipper pullers, and custom hardware.

We can also customize polybags, boxes, instruction cards, barcode labels, and other packaging materials according to your brand requirements.

Certain custom logos and hardware require tooling or molds. Costs depend on size, material, quantity, and manufacturing process.

Do you support factory audits and sustainable manufacturing?

Yes.

HOY places strong emphasis on social responsibility, quality management, and the use of sustainable materials.

For recycled-material projects, we can provide appropriate GRS/RCS-related material and supply-chain solutions, depending on project requirements.

If your project requires specific certifications, testing, compliance documentation, or third-party factory audits, please let us know during the quotation stage so that we can evaluate the appropriate solution.

Can we visit your factory?

Yes.

Customers are welcome to visit our manufacturing facilities by appointment.

For overseas customers who are unable to travel to China, we can also arrange virtual factory tours, video sample reviews, and online production meetings.

Design & Sampling

How can I request a sample?

You can send us a Technical Pack, design drawing, reference image, or physical sample.

Our team will first evaluate the construction, materials, workmanship, and expected order quantity before confirming the sample cost and development lead time.

How much does a sample cost?

Typical sample development costs range from approximately US$100 to US$300 per style, depending on product complexity, materials, hardware, and workmanship.

Additional tooling charges may apply for custom hardware, special logos, unique construction, or components requiring new molds.

How long does sample development take?

Once the design, materials, and major specifications have been confirmed, standard sample development typically takes approximately 7–15 days.

Additional time may be required for special material sourcing, custom hardware tooling, complex printing, or specialized workmanship.

Can the sample fee be credited toward a bulk order?

Yes.

For a bulk order of typically 1,000 pieces or more per style, the sample development fee can generally be credited toward the bulk order.

Tooling, special material sourcing, third-party testing, and other external costs may be treated separately depending on the project.

Can I make changes after receiving the first sample?

Yes.

After reviewing the first sample, you may request changes to dimensions, construction, colors, materials, hardware, or workmanship.

We generally allow one reasonable round of minor adjustments.

If the requested changes involve major pattern redevelopment, significant construction changes, new special materials, or new tooling, additional sample charges may apply.

What happens if I am not satisfied with the sample?

If the sample has a clear discrepancy from the specifications, dimensions, materials, or workmanship previously confirmed by both parties, we will review the issue and make the appropriate correction.

If the sample has been produced according to the customer's approved design and material specifications but the customer subsequently changes the design direction, construction, or materials, additional development charges may apply.

Who pays for sample shipping?

International sample shipping is normally paid by the customer.

You may arrange collection using your own DHL, FedEx, UPS, or other courier account, or we can arrange shipment on your behalf and charge the corresponding freight cost.

Can you develop several styles at the same time?

Yes.

We can develop multiple SKUs or a complete collection simultaneously. Since each style normally requires separate pattern development and sampling, sample charges are generally calculated per style.

What is a PP Sample / Approval Sample?

Before bulk production, we normally prepare an approval sample using the final confirmed materials, colors, hardware, logo, and other key specifications.

This approved sample serves as an important reference standard for bulk production and quality inspection.

We therefore recommend carefully reviewing all dimensions, colors, materials, construction, and workmanship before approving the final sample for production.

MOQ, Pricing & Payment

What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?

For custom-made products, our standard MOQ is generally 300 pieces per style per color.

For special materials, custom-dyed materials, custom hardware, or components with supplier MOQ requirements, the actual MOQ may vary according to material minimums and product consumption.

For selected in-stock styles:

  • Genuine leather bags: typically from 20 pieces per style
  • PU and other material bags: typically from 50 pieces per style

Stock availability and minimum quantities should be confirmed at the time of inquiry.

Can I add my logo to a small order of in-stock bags?

For selected in-stock products, simple branding can be added through hangtags, logo charms, or other methods that do not require modification of the finished bag construction. This service is typically available from 50 pieces.

Since in-stock bags have already been manufactured, complex branding on the bag body, internal labels, or finished structural components may not be possible.

Please send us your logo so that we can recommend the most suitable option.

What information do you need to provide an accurate quotation?

For the most accurate quotation, please provide:

Product image/design + dimensions + materials + logo requirements + estimated quantity + number of colors + packaging requirements + destination + target delivery date.

If you do not yet have complete specifications, you can simply send us a reference image and estimated quantity, and our team can help you define the remaining requirements.

Do you quote EXW, FOB, or CIF?

We can provide EXW, FOB, CIF, and other shipping terms depending on customer requirements.

Shenzhen is one of our primary export gateways, although arrangements can also be made according to your nominated freight forwarder or logistics requirements.

Does the unit price decrease for larger orders?

Generally, yes.

Bag pricing is affected by material purchasing volume, production efficiency, tooling-cost allocation, packaging, and total order quantity.

For identical specifications, larger order quantities can typically achieve more competitive unit pricing.

What are your payment terms?

Our standard payment terms for new customers are:

50% deposit and 50% balance before shipment.

After establishing a stable long-term business relationship, payment terms may be reviewed based on order volume, cooperation history, and credit conditions.

Materials & Customization

What materials can you work with?

Our material options include PU/synthetic leather, genuine leather, nylon, polyester, canvas, RPET/recycled polyester, other recycled and sustainable materials, woven materials, and specialty fashion materials and embellishments.

Material selection directly affects appearance, hand feel, durability, MOQ, cost, and lead time. Our team can recommend appropriate options based on your brand positioning and target price.

Can we customize material colors?

Yes.

We can develop colors according to your specified Pantone reference or approved physical color swatch.

Custom colors are generally subject to material supplier MOQs. For example, certain PU materials may require approximately 300 yards, while some nylon materials may require approximately 1,000 yards.

Exact requirements vary by material and supplier.

For smaller orders, selecting from our existing material color cards can help reduce both MOQ and development cost.

Can we customize zippers, buckles, chains, and other hardware?

Yes.

During product development, we can select different zippers, buckles, chains, magnetic closures, D-rings, zipper pullers, and other hardware according to your design, budget, and brand positioning.

Custom-branded hardware can also be developed with dedicated tooling.

Can the lining, compartments, and pockets be customized?

Yes.

Internal construction can be designed according to the intended use of the bag, including laptop compartments, zipper pockets, phone pockets, bottle holders, card slots, key holders, security pockets, and removable compartments.

We recommend defining major functional requirements before the first sample is developed.

How much do custom logos and special techniques cost?

Costs depend on the technique, size, material, and quantity.

Metal logos, custom zipper pullers, and buckles generally require tooling, while screen printing, embroidery, embossing, and other techniques are priced according to size, number of colors, and production complexity.

Providing your logo in AI or PDF format, together with the approximate required dimensions, will help us provide a more accurate estimate.

Production & Delivery

How quickly can in-stock products be shipped?

Standard in-stock orders can generally be prepared for shipment within approximately 10 working days.

Additional lead time may be required for custom logos, hangtags, special packaging, or other secondary processing.

What is the lead time for custom bulk production?

After final sample approval, deposit payment, and preparation of key materials, standard custom orders typically require approximately 45–60 days for production.

Actual lead time depends on product construction, material sourcing, custom hardware, order quantity, packaging requirements, and factory production schedules.

We will confirm the estimated delivery schedule before bulk production begins.

Will production take longer during peak seasons?

It may.

During peak seasons, material supply and production lines can become more heavily booked, and some orders may require approximately 1–2 additional weeks.

If your project has a fixed launch date, promotional event, or holiday deadline, we recommend starting development and production planning as early as possible.

Which port do you normally ship from?

Sea freight is commonly arranged through Yantian Port, Shenzhen, or other suitable South China ports.

Alternative arrangements can be made according to your nominated freight forwarder and logistics requirements.

Can you deliver to our nominated warehouse or freight forwarder?

Yes.

We can arrange delivery to a nominated warehouse or freight forwarder in China, or coordinate export shipping according to the agreed terms.

Can a large order be shipped in multiple batches?

Yes.

For large-volume projects, partial shipments can be arranged according to production progress and the customer's sales or delivery plan.

Additional warehousing charges may apply if completed goods need to be stored for an extended period.

How long can completed orders be stored free of charge?

We generally provide up to one month of free storage for completed orders.

After the free-storage period, warehousing charges may apply depending on shipment volume, quantity, and storage duration.

Quality & After-Sales

How does HOY control product quality?

Our quality-control process covers the entire manufacturing cycle, from incoming materials to final shipment.

1. Bulk Material Inspection

Materials are checked for quantity, color, thickness, appearance, and quality. Physical or chemical testing can be arranged according to customer requirements.

2. Cut-Panel Inspection

Cut components are checked for appearance, color consistency, and dimensions.

3. In-Line Production Inspection

Key processes such as stitching, edge painting, hardware installation, and workmanship are inspected throughout production. Certain critical processes are checked at intervals of no more than two hours.

4. Finished Product Inspection

Completed bags are inspected for appearance, dimensions, functionality, stitching, and workmanship.

5. Packing & Final Inspection

Packaging is checked against approved requirements, followed by final inspection according to customer standards or the agreed AQL standard.

Inspection requirements can be adjusted according to individual brand and project specifications.

Can we arrange third-party inspection?

Yes.

Customers are welcome to appoint a third-party QC company or their own quality team to inspect the goods.

If your project requires a specific AQL level, testing standard, or brand quality manual, please provide the requirements before production.

Can you arrange material or product testing?

Yes.

Physical and chemical testing can be coordinated according to customer requirements and target-market regulations. This may include colorfastness, strength testing, and relevant chemical compliance testing.

Specific tests, standards, costs, and testing laboratories will be confirmed according to the project and destination market.

What happens if we find a quality issue after receiving the goods?

Please provide your order reference, product/style number, affected quantity, clear photos or videos, and outer-carton/packaging information if shipping damage may be involved.

Our sales, production, and quality teams will jointly investigate the cause and propose an appropriate solution based on the nature, severity, and responsibility for the issue.

Is slight color variation normal?

A reasonable degree of color variation may occur between different material production batches.

For the same bulk order, we aim to maintain consistent material batches and carefully control color matching to minimize visible variation.

For projects with strict color requirements, we recommend providing a Pantone reference or approved physical color swatch.

What dimensional tolerance should we expect?

Bags are soft-constructed products, so minor dimensional variation can occur during manufacturing.

For standard products, approximately ±5 mm may be used as a general reference. Actual tolerances depend on product dimensions, materials, construction, and the customer's quality requirements.

If your brand has specific dimensional tolerances, please provide them during product development.

What is your product warranty?

Our standard products generally carry a one-year quality warranty.

If a confirmed manufacturing defect is related to materials, hardware, or workmanship, we will work with the customer to determine an appropriate solution, which may include repair, replacement, rework, or commercial compensation depending on the circumstances.

Issues caused by misuse, use beyond the product's intended purpose, normal wear and tear, improper transportation, or improper storage are not considered manufacturing defects.
